Switching to solar power is an exciting step towards energy independence and sustainability. But what actually happens on the day of your solar panel installation? At Planet Blue Energy, we make the process as smooth and efficient as possible. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at what to expect when our team arrives to install your solar energy system.

1. Arrival & Getting Started

Team Arrival

Our installation team will arrive at your location at the scheduled time, ready to get to work. Before they begin, they’ll introduce themselves and provide a quick rundown of the day’s plan. Our team is already briefed on your project, so they’ll dive straight into the setup once initial introductions are done.

Pets and Safety

If you have pets, we kindly ask that you keep them away from the work area. This ensures their safety and allows our team to work efficiently without any interruptions. The installation involves heavy equipment, tools, and electrical work, making it crucial to maintain a controlled environment.

2. Preparing Your Property

Clear Driveway and Access

To keep the installation process smooth, please ensure that your driveway or any other access points to your building are clear before our team arrives. This allows us to bring in our equipment and set up quickly without any obstructions.

Inverter Location

As part of our site survey, we identified the optimal location for your inverter. This is typically a garage, utility room, or an exterior wall that provides easy access to your electrical system. Please make sure this area is cleared beforehand so we can install the inverter without delays.

3. Power Interruptions

Power Shutdown

During the installation, we’ll need to temporarily shut off your electricity. The duration of the power outage depends on the size and complexity of your system, but typically, it lasts up to two hours. This is usually done in two one-hour intervals to minimize disruptions.

Notice Before Shutdown

Our installer will always notify you before shutting off the power, so you have time to boil water, charge any devices, or complete any other necessary preparations. We understand that power interruptions can be inconvenient, and we aim to keep them as brief as possible.

Extended Power Off

In rare cases, if we encounter any unexpected issues that require the power to be off for longer than expected, we will notify you immediately and keep you updated on the situation.

4. System Setup & Handover

Final Setup and Connection

Once the solar panels and inverter are installed, our engineer will connect your system to the Solis app. This app allows you to monitor your solar energy production in real-time, giving you full control over your system’s performance.

Additional Setup for Accessories

If your solar installation includes a hot water diverter or an EV charger, we will also set up the Myenergi app for seamless integration and control.

Handover and Questions

Before we leave, we’ll walk you through your new solar system, explain how it works, and answer any questions you may have. Our goal is to ensure you feel confident in managing and monitoring your solar power generation.

What’s Next?

With your new solar energy system up and running, you can immediately start enjoying the benefits of clean, renewable power. Your home will generate its own electricity, reducing your reliance on the grid and cutting down on energy costs.

At Planet Blue Energy, we’re committed to providing a seamless and hassle-free installation experience. If you have any follow-up questions or need support after installation, our team is always just a call away.
